Being a carer for someone with a disability or an elderly relative or friend is a rewarding role, but it is important that you are taking time to look after yourself. Having regular breaks is essential so you can continue general life tasks and activities that are important to you.
In-home respite provides short-term care in your own home so that your carers can have time for themselves while their role is fulfilled. Knowing that you are being cared for and well looked after by someone that you can trust is comforting for many people, and having trusted support is also important. In-home respite can help with housework, personal care, social support, and nursing services.
For our clients with a cognitive impairment or physical disability it can be challenging to take or remember to take your medication. For this reason, we offer a medication reminding and prompting service. This service involves our support staff encouraging or reminding you to take your medication at any time of the day. Our qualified staff have completed ‘Assisting client with medication’ courses which allows them to remind clients of the time of day and ask them if they have taken their medication.

Overnight care and sleepover services are a practical and cost-effective alternative to residential care. During our sleepover services, support workers or nurses are on hand in your home for you to call on if needed. This service is ideal for people who have a medical condition that requires 24/7 monitoring, such as ventilated clients or those with chronic diseases, people who live alone, or for carers who need some respite but want some peace of mind that their loved one has assistance to monitor and care for them at all times when needed.
We offer two types of Overnight Services:
An Active Night Shift is an awake shift, and the staff are not able to sleep. You are billed on an hourly night rate and the support worker or nursing staff are on standby to:
An inactive overnight shift is made up of 12 hours of care. For 4 hours of this shift the support worker is awake to provide any support or care you may need. These 4 hours can be split between the night and morning or designed to suit personal needs. 8 hours of this shift is then made up of the staff member sleeping in your home. You can wake the staff member up 2 times in the night for assistance, as needed. The most popular inactive overnight shift is 6pm – 6am, but this service can be tailored to the times suited to your individual needs.
For clients with more complex care needs, Client Centred Home Care offer 24 hours care that provides clients with support around the clock. Support shifts can be broken down into three 8-hour shifts, or our team can put together a roster that works with your individual schedule. To ensure continuity of care there will be a compatible team of staff that works on a rotational roster, so you have the same friendly faces to support you each day.
